Step-by-step process to become a CSM

CSM certification process

  • Step 1: Spare some time to register for the CSM® course at Zeolearn.

  • Step 2: Attend the 2-day CSM® course conducted by renowned Certified Scrum Trainers® (CSTs).

  • Step 3: The CSTs will forward your details to Scrum Alliance who will send you a link to create login credentials on completing the course.

  • Step 4: Click on the link to create your profile on Scrum Alliance.

  • Step 5: Take the CSM® exam using those credentials. You need to answer 50 MCQs in an hour.

  • Step 6: After you are done with the test, submit your answers by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button.

  • Step 7: Once submitted, you will see your score on the screen. The minimum pass marks is 74%.

  • Step 8: On passing the exam, you will be requested to accept a license agreement.

  • Step 9: Fantastic job, you are now CSM® certified! Renew your certification every 2 years.

Get familiar with the 12 principles and 4 values stated in the Agile Manifesto through our popular in-class activity- “Draw and demonstrate”. Herein, you will be asked to form groups and illustrate all 12 principles pictorially.

The test consists of a combination of multiple-choice and true/false questions. It will take approximately 60 minutes to complete it. You’ll be required to demonstrate your understanding of key Scrum elements, including General Scrum knowledge, Scrum roles, Scrum meetings, and Scrum artifacts. The CSM test has a passing score of 74% which comprises of 50 MCQs. You will have two attempts within 90 days after you receive your welcome email to pass the test at no cost. No, there is no online/virtual course for CSM. Scrum Alliance believes that understanding Scrum requires a greater level of personal interaction that cannot be delivered in a virtual environment.

Through this membership, you can join local user groups, online social networks, gain access to deep discounts on gatherings, and additional member-only resources. In addition, CSMs can use a specially designed logo to highlight their credentials.

After completing your CSM course, you will receive an email from the Scrum Alliance that includes a link to create your login credentials. After receiving your membership email, you have 90 days to take and complete the test.

You may be required to put in 10 to 12 hours of effort every week, including the classroom sessions/live class, self-study and assignments.
