Baidu Inc China’s largest search engine announced that they will be launching its R&D facility center in Silicon valley to hire the best talent to increase their revenue and come up with latest advancements in artificial intelligence and self-driving technology.
In its official statement, they mentioned telling that “It is becoming increasingly important in Baidu’s global strategy as a base for attracting world-class talent,” and reported telling that, the latest R&D facility center is mainly focusing on AI and self-driving technologies. In addition to that, they are adding 150 employees to the existing 200 researchers in this new R&D facility.
Baidu’s machine learning and AI will be working in United states are now taken care by their Ya-qin, president and previously he was working as an executive in Microsoft R&D center. Baidu has been giving more priority to artificial intelligence so that they can regain revenue that was lost to one of its artificial Chinese competitors like Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and Tencent Holdings Ltd. About 1300 engineers are working on this technology from U.S and China.
First-class AI expert in the world Andrew Ng announced last week that he will be leaving Baidu after working with the organization for 3 years. Andrew worked as a chief scientist to the organization, him stepping down from the company is the biggest blow to the company’s ambitions in AI development.
