DeepMind helps Google cutting the costs of Data Centers
It’s been around 2 years since Google has spent millions of dollars on a small artificial intelligence startup DeepMind. The expenditure is generating some results as the unit has shown some promising results by giving tough time to Atari video games. Facebook also lost the war with Google, as it has beaten the impossible board game.
Recently, DeepMind has also started applying its advanced AI to Google’s data centers. This will result in reducing the energy consumption for its servers and computers.
Google is aimed at reducing the cost for one of the company’s top expenses because maintaining the core Google is still very expensive. Since 2 years Google is using machine learning for its data centers to curb extra expenditure.
Google a month back has started using more specialized AI tools from DeepMind for their cooling problems in server farms. Google confirmed that there has been a drop of 40 percent in the energy needed for cooling.
Recently, Google has made an investment in renewable energy for its data centers. DeepMind is helping Google in saving energy for its operations. This is big news for Google’s business because it will have a very good impact on its cloud storage.
