On Wednesday, Adobe has announced the launch of a new Optical Character Recognition(OCR) app termed as “Adobe Scan”. Adobe is using its advanced technology to transform printed text into digital text and scan documents in a fraction of seconds.
Adobe Scan upgraded for capturing multi-page documents, with no page limits, no watermarks and it is free to use. “Adobe Scan represents a radical reimagination of how to capture your most important document content,” said Bryan Lamkin, executive Vice President and general manager, Digital Media at Adobe.
The app captures the picture, identifies the document edges, eliminates shadows and then uses the image recognition features. Scans are transformed into PDFs that can be searched, copied, edited, highlighted and shared with other users.
According to the blog post by Adobe, "Adobe invented PDF creation for PCs, and with Adobe Scan we're doing the same for a mobile-first world. As part of Adobe Document Cloud, new apps like Adobe Scan integrate with services in Adobe Sign and Acrobat DC, offering a modern document experience with unprecedented value to our customers."
Adobe Sense Image Processing Technology launched Adobe Scan after incorporating new features, including customizable email templates, cloud-based digital signatures and more.Scans picked up by the app are saved in the Adobe Document Cloud, which works with Adobe Sign and Acrobat DC. These are available across mobile devices and desktops.
From now on, Adobe Scan app will be available on Android and iOS devices. For downloading the Adobe Scan app on these devices, refer to this link.
