The final Developer Preview for Android 7.1 was announced yesterday and it is the final release before the launch of Android 7.1.1 platform to the ecosystem. The Android 7.1.1 is said to include all the bug fixes, optimizations and also the developer features available on the Pixel devices. The Developer Preview 2 can help the developers to prepare their applications for the Android 7.1, which the users will be running soon enough.
This Final Developer Preview will have the closest UI and system behavior of the Android 7.1.1. This update also includes the APIs and the developer features which were introduced in the previous Developer Preview. All of the developer features can be viewed here.

In order to optimize the applications for the Android 7.1.1, developers need to download the Android Studio 2.2.2 along with the API level 25 platform, tools and emulator system images with the help of SDK Manager in the Android Studio.
The Firebase Test Lab can be used to test the applications on the cloud on all the virtual devices during the preview period for no cost. Without writing any test scripts the apps can be tested with the help of Robo Test. The developed applications can even be published to alpha, beta and production channels on the Google Play Developer Console.
Users who have already opted for the Android Beta Program will be receiving the Developer Preview 2 update over the coming week.
