Google has come up with the new release of Android beta program with the Android Nougat 7.1 and with the latest version of its mobile OS.
In the recent Google event, they had announced some of the new features with its Pixel phones which include outstanding features like system-wide support for the Google Assistant.
Google is extending its 7.0 release to 7.1 beta which provides over-the-air installs. The devices which were used for 7.0 Cycle are also used for new betas. Devices like 6P phones, Nexus 5X and Pixel C tablet. The final release will come to Android One devices, Nexus Player, 5X, 6P and Pixel.
The Latest release is mainly targeted for developers. Compared to the previous release the latest release 7.1 beta is stable. You will be automatically upgraded with 7.1 if you have installed 7.0 beta cycles and not upgraded.
Features like support for Google’s Daydream VR platform and faster updates for A/B system are included in the 7.1 release. Google will be presenting few new features in the current release. Developers are now allowed to do outward key actions of their apps directly into the launcher. These actions can help users perform a certain function. This enables messaging apps to provide you shortcuts for messaging your friends. For Example: you are enabled to get instant directions to your favourite locations in Google Maps.
Animated GIFs, Stickers and other images can now be added by keyboard developers. These new apps enable users to use new settings screen which allows them to delete unused files and free up storage without any difficulty.
Look and feel of Android 7.1 remains same as the previous release. Developers are now allowed to set round icons for their apps for Pixel phones.
