Google released Angular 2 JavaScript framework in mid of September, and in few months they are coming with the release of Angular 3.
Rob Wormald, Developer Advocate and part of Angular core team said that they are expecting the release of Angular 3 in March. He also added that Angular 3 will be dedicated to improving tooling and reducing the generation of codes. Angular 3 will be available with a template compiler that will provide feedback in an IDE for error detection in a template. Because of improved compilation and changes in the framework, will produce 25 percent less code.
Angular 1.0 released in April 2012 and subsequently Google released the rewritten Angular 2 framework on September 15. As compared to both of this release, Angular 3 gets a much-accelerated release schedule. Rob Wormald has stated that "This is just semantic versioning in action for us and it means that we will every six months have a predictable release schedule".
Angular 3 is not a rewrite unlike Angular 2 and Wormald explained, “There's nobody on the team who ever wants to rewrite a framework again”. Angular 2 was rewritten using Typescript, Microsoft’s typed superset of JavaScript. It allows separation of the framework from the DOM to authorize the usage of multiple renderers.
