According to a survey conducted by Oxford and Yale University, Artificial Intelligence will beat humans by 2030.This survey incorporates the opinions from machine learning researchers about their predictions on AI progression.
Nowadays the merging of humans and robots is occurring at an accelerated pace. More than 350 AI researchers have conducted series of surveys and have stated a 50% chance for robots or AI to strike humans by 2060. Elon Musk, an artificial intelligence enthusiast, and businessman refutes this and says that AI will not replace humans completely.
According to Katja Grace from the Machine Intelligence Research Institute, this hypothesis clearly has “far-reaching” social consequences.Despite the possibilities of AI outperforming humans in 2060, the respondents strongly believe that the chances are negligible. According to them, humans will still be needed to tackle the AI issues in future.
Eleni Vasilaki, from the University of Sheffield in the U.K. said- "There is accumulating evidence that machines can overpower human intelligence in complex, though specific tasks, but there is little evidence that AI with human-like versatility will appear anytime soon." According to some recent predictions, AI may strike humans in future in the spheres like- Spacex, business activities, human tasks and a number of other fields. However, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, opines that this could happen much before that. The entrepreneur stakes his own Open AI gym to support developers instruct their artificial intelligence systems and robots.
Elon Musk tweets "Probably closer to 2030 to 2040 IMO. 2060 would be a linear extrapolation, but progress is exponential," in reply to a scientist's post on how AI will beat humans in 2060.But many experts say that AI systems may surpass and supplant humans only in a few areas, not in every sphere.
