For years BitTorrent has dominated the file downloading arena and now the company is set to bring live videos through peer-to-peer technology. The technology is surely going to revolutionize the transmission industry for sure. At present our TV is completely ruled by the cable companies because of their expensive wires and satellites. These companies have full control over the prices they want the channel owners to pay because fewer options are present for live transmissions. Following the effect, consumers have to pay according to these companies because sometimes they are the only player.
BitTorrent is ready to give its user a cheaper way of watching live videos without cables and satellites. Rather than putting much pressure on the centralized data transfer source BitTorrent has moved towards the crowd. BitTorrent has named this application as BitTorrent Live and it will aggregate all the channels and users can view the contents live.
This live video technology was earlier available on Mac, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV. BitTorrent released the iOS application for a BitTorrent Live app this week. Currently, the application features 15 channels including NASA TV, France One, QVC Home and TWiT.
