Dell announces new products and partnerships to simplify IoT

On 15th May 2017, Dell Technologies has announced a new Internet of Things(IoT) products and services to simplify IoT deployments and realize Digital Transformation more quickly. According to Gartner report, by 2020, there will be 20.4 billion connected things in use, produced by a rapidly growing number of connected devices in the companies. Dell’s IoT portfolio is centered around Infrastructure, IoT gateways, Manageability solutions and embedded PCs, to materialize “fast innovation and simplified integration”. New IoT products and services: EdgeX Foundry, an open source framework, recently launched by Linux, operates on any operating system, and with microservices, it builds a common framework for edge computing platform. Dell will provide more than 12 microservices and over 125,000 source code lines under Apache 2.0, to start the project. After Dell and EMC were merged, VMware plus IoT center, a preferred monitoring solution and enterprise management for Dell Edge Gateways came into existence.This allowed the customers to scale, protect, manage and operate their IoT projects, to secure IoT infrastructure management solution. Organize Partnerships: Dell has announced the names of a group of IoT software services and partners through the Dell EMC Partner Programs and Dell IoT solutions. The new partners include- Atos, Bosch, Modius, Mocana, ForgeRock, IOTech and Analog devices, which have been added to the program recently. Dell EMC and Bosch have jointly developed a 4.0 jump-start kit industry to implement IoT projects faster than ROI, to help customers by introducing Bosch XDK sensors, cloud integration, and software, a Dell Edge Gateway, all preconfigured. Atos and Dell EMC are working together to build a platform for IoT service management framework. An enterprise-level communications solution provider Atom AMPD merged their software with embedded box PCs and Dell Edge Gateways.
