In order to join other major non-technology related companies, Disney has introduced its new Open Source Program. This initiative has been taken by the mass media company so as to make the developers collaborate with the Disney employees to implement open-source libraries and platforms used by Disney for its animation work.
Some of the open-source projects which are used by the Disney Developers are hosted on the GitHub.io page. The description on the page is given as “Open Source Software is important to The Walt Disney Company.” These projects were actually used in some of the blockbuster movies such as Harry Potter and Hotel Transylvania.
Disney has so far provided around 12 open source projects on the page. All of which are listed out below:

As stated in one of the several projects on the GitHub page, “The Munki Project is home to several projects that are focused on improving the experience of managing OS X for both the admin and the end user. Munki is surrounded by a vibrant community that is passionate about the craft of managing OS X and the services that surround it.”

Along with the addition of these several projects, Disney has also started hiring various software programmers, blockchain experts, and big data engineers. The company is trying to expand its open-source portfolio.
