Last Summer, Google introduced its Awareness API to the developers for the first time through Google Play Services. Awareness API enabled the app developers to understand all aspects of user’s environment. The API uses the combination of context signals, such as location, physical activity, weather and nearby beacons. App developers will get an idea about the user individually and customize the mobile app experience.
Awareness API has already been implemented by many of the companies for their application. Now the API has been taken by the H&M Group's digital fashion house Ivyrevel and its fashion tech lab. The idea behind this integration is to make customer personalized clothes in a digital way by using user's context signals as the input.
The application is under development and it uses Snapshot API to understand the user’s daily activity and lifestyle with user’s permission. After a week’s collection, the data is sent to an algorithm which reads the user’s context signals and creates a digitally tailored dress for the user to purchase.
