Google earlier in October previewed its Action on Google, the developer platform for the Google Assistant. With the release of Action on Google, the company has enhanced the Assistant user experience by bringing different services to the Assistant. A good news came for the developers on 8th December when Google made an announcement, “Starting today, you can build Conversation Actions for Google Home and request to become an early access partner for upcoming platform features.”
What is Conservation Action?
Google always work towards making things simpler and better. Conversation Actions delivers information, services, and assistance to the users. It doesn’t require any special skill or any app for the users to use this.
As mentioned in Google Blog, the company has provided two developer samples, just say,"Ok Google, talk to Number Genie " or try "Ok Google, talk to Eliza' for the classic 1960s AI exercise.
Developers can start developing their own codes by visiting Actions on Google website. In order to help developers, Google has partnered with a number of partners, including API.AI, GupShup, DashBot and VoiceLabs, Assist, Notify.IO, Witlingo and Spoken Layer. Google has also created a collection of voice user interface (VUI) resources. Some early access partners have already integrated their apps with Google home.
Actions on Google is now available only for Google Home but soon Pixel and Allo is going to have Actions to Assistant. Developers who are interested in creating their own actions can register for the early access partner program.
