On Tuesday, Google Cloud announced its new fully managed IoT service called Google Cloud IoT Core. It will help users in connecting them securely to Google Cloud Platform, manage their devices centrally, and process the data generated by those devices.
Google Cloud IoT Solution, when used in a broader way, provides access to new operational insights, that can be helpful in optimizing and changing the businesses. For example, Oil & Gas companies can enable intelligent scheduling for equipment maintenance to maximize profit. Logistics companies can also use this service to collect data from the vehicles including other data such as- weather, demand, and traffic, so that they can place vehicles in the right place, at the right time.
Many companies using sensors, conveyor belts, and farming equipment sometimes find it difficult to monitor and manage these devices. The operation cost to maintain this kind of devices is somewhat high and comes with a lot of complexities. For most organizations, it becomes difficult to maintain world class end-to-end security for distributed devices.
With Cloud IoT Core, Google wants to make things easier for the organizations by removing risks and reducing complexities from the device monitoring and management process. Google is trying to provide customers with necessary infrastructure and service users’ need for the data management.
Currently, Cloud IoT Core is available as a private beta. Google will be launching Cloud IoT Core with its hardware and software IoT partners soon.
