Last year on May 2016, Google had introduced Gboard to the world that lets the user search and send GIFs, Emoji, Information and much more, right from the keyboard.
On 24th February 2017, Google upgraded Gboard by the popular demand feature Voice Typing along with Google Doodles, new emoji and additional access to 15 different languages.
Just update the app and iPhone users you are ready to go with the new voice typing feature ---- Hold down the microphone on the space bar for around two seconds then release it. You will see a new screen popping which will slide in with a pulsing microphone. Now say whatever you’ve got to say and accordingly Google will transcribe your speech, then you will see your words being written into the last field you were in.
Isn’t it amazing? Getting an app that does your work done so cleverly. Apple has forbidden third party keyboards accessing the microphone but third party applications which include the one acting as “parent” of third party keyboard can do it. So eventually Gboard will get you to the app for voice recognition and in whatever app you are using it will send the results back.
