On Thursday, IBM announced its collaboration with Mendix that will combine Mendix’s low-code development platform with IBM’s Cloud, including data analytics, blockchain, mobile artificial intelligence and internet of things services. This will help developers from all backgrounds in developing and deploying cloud-native innovation fast and easily.
With this collaboration, non-technical users can gather and connect software components into databases easily to develop complex apps. Instead of reducing the hand-coding and computer programming to bring an app to production, the Mendix low-code environment enables software creation with the help of point-and-click interfaces.
Derek Roos, CEO of Mendix, explained why this partnership is so important: “The apps of the future cannot be built with the tools of the past. Businesses across all industries are finding new ways to innovate, and today’s market leaders are putting low-code development at the core of their digital strategy. The partnership between IBM and Mendix enables customers to accelerate time to value and gain competitive advantage, leveraging IBM Cloud and IBM Watson services.”
The Mendix and IBM partnership offers an effective integration of the IBM Cloud, which combines traditional data centers, private and public clouds through a single architecture. Integrating data in these systems develops a foundation for artificial intelligence workloads and functioning the Mendix low-code environment on top brings a simple and single collaborative user environment to technology and business teams.
