Microsoft is one of the few companies which has started realizing the potential of IoT. The company has also seen that how IoT has become an integral part of businesses. Microsoft has now announced IoT Central, a new Service-as-a-Service to help companies by taking benefits from IoT. The main idea behind Microsoft IoT Central is to reduce the complexities of IoT solutions.
Through IoT Central, customers and partners will be able to build strong IoT scenarios with minimal effort. Microsoft will be offering IoT Central along with their existing platform-as-a-service (PaaS), Azure IoT Suite. It was initially introduced in 2015 and provides more customization options and full control.
“This new IoT SaaS offering has the potential to dramatically increase the speed at which manufacturers can innovate and bring new products to market, as well as lower the barriers to creating IoT solutions that generate new revenue opportunities and better experiences for customers”, according to Microsoft Blog.
Along with this, Microsoft is also investing in its existing PaaS service, Microsoft Azure IoT Suite. Microsoft is going to introduce Connected Factory, preconfigured solution in the Azure IoT Suite. “This helps in accelerating a customer’s journey to industrie 4.0 and makes it easy to connect on-premises OPC UA and OPC Classic devices to the Microsoft cloud and get insights to help drive operational efficiencies”, Microsoft wrote in the blog.
