New initiatives to boost IoT ecosystem by Huawei

On 23th May 2017, at the inauguration of Huawei IoT Ecosystem Forum, Huawei Technologies has shared its view on IoT. This event was held in association with CommunicAsia2017, with over 200 participants.The IoT Forum hosts successful partnerships with some of the popular industrial sectors such as- smart home, public utilities, healthcare and smart city, to stimulate the IoT industry applications implemented in Asia Pacific. Narrow Band-IoT(NB-IoT) is a low-power wide area network which represents approximately 70% of cellular IoT connections running on licensed spectrum. NB-IoT has driven industry applications to include agriculture, parking, and asset tracking. Lim Chee Siong, Chief strategy and marketing officer of Huawei, said in his opening speech, that Huawei supports the IoT ecosystem which mainly focuses on: Innovating IoT chipsets Building wireless network Providing a cloud-based IoT connection management platform, which makes the connection and communication easy in the IoT ecosystem. In one of his recent blog posts, Jiang Wang Cheng, president of IoT solutions, Huawei said - “We believe that IoT is a ‘GLocal’ ecosystem where telcos, local enterprises and global vendors like Huawei leverage on each others’ knowledge and capabilities to build a vibrant ecosystem. Huawei is glad to recommend our partners in different industries and establish channels of communication between operators and vertical industries. We call for more partners from across different verticals to join us to build viable IoT solutions”. Currently, Huawei is working worldwide with more than 40 partners on smart light, connected car to extend IoT device, a service platform, applications, network, system integration and smart meter and declared plans to invest US$1 billion in developer ecosystems.
