Earlier in September Yubico made a huge announcement of the plans to support Windows Hello Platform. The company is more interested in providing strong hardware-based authentication on windows 10.
Finally, after almost 2 months, YubiKey made its entry in Windows Store in order to work with the new Windows Hello App. This new application has a basic requirement of YubiKey, Yubico USB-based device which generates an encrypted OTP for the recognition. YubiKey is also available for many different services including Dropbox, GitHub, WordPress, Google accounts, and a gaggle of password managers. It is also available for Last Pass Premium, a Microsoft edge extension. This means that the authentication can be done on both Microsoft and the web.
Signing in after a restart requires the password or PIN, which means a stranger can’t access the device even if he is having the YubiKey.
YubiKey for Windows Hello is built on the Windows Companion Device Framework and it is a single function device. It can be extended to other Microsoft authentication tasks including Windows Hello for Business.
It is the perfect solution for those who want to save themselves from different security threat landscapes because of its two-factor authentication. YubiKey is simple and easy to use, which makes it the first choice for the individuals and small businesses to enhance their authentication experience.
